Course Description

Students will be engaged in practical exercises to enhance their creativity and strengthen their management and teamwork skills. Once they have acquired the fundamental tools, the participants will visit a partner company, gathering information and studying its history and development. Subsequently, they will develop and present their own corporate theater proposal based on the company’s needs, utilizing immersive devices of augmented audio reality, following the Silent Play technique which allows the creation of an interactive digital performance. The performance will be adapted to a previously identified real space, with careful attention to the presentation and communication of the event.

Create a chapter for an interactive sound journey.

  • Purpose: Develop a geolocated narrative journey
  • Requirements:
    • Project Length: 40 minutes
    • Project Size: 10 scenes of approximately 4 minutes each.
    • Project Aesthetics
    • Coding Proficiency:  Basic ability to input textual, audio, and visual content and to create geolocation.
  • Evaluation: 
    • Interactivity: The ability of the sound to generate a physical action in the audience group consistent with the narration.
    • Story and narrative: Evocative and emotional capacity. Ability to engage and immerse the audience.
    • Production values: Quality of the music or ambient sounds. Quality of the narrating voice. Time management.

Course Best Practices

  • Use integrated design with connected labs in the Minor in Artistic Management project: Creative Writing and Videomaking.
  • Spend entire 8-hour days working in the field to create the site-specific performance.
  • Physically experiment with theatrical techniques in a group, later transferring them to the construction of the performance.
  • Work in a small group (maximum of 18 students).
  • Open the final performance to other students and teachers in the area.
  • Make the product available to the client.
